General Recommendations

Schools and childcare facilities should implement protocols for the following:

• Symptom screening for all individuals entering the establishment (children, staff, and families).
• Maintain physical distancing of at least 3-6 feet between individuals who are not part of the same household, as feasible.
• Increase hand washing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or increase use of hand sanitizer, containing at least 60% alcohol, if appropriate.
• Use of cloth face coverings (masks)
• Stagger recreational time.
• Prevent mixing of classrooms.
• Frequent cleaning and disinfection, especially of high touch surfaces.
